We had a 9 hour flight from Denver to Heathrow Airport near London. We saw "Something's Got to Give" and were able to get about
3 - 4 hours of bad sleep during the flight over the Atlantic. At Heathrow Airport we got some fish and chips and then waited for our
gate to be announced. For flights within Europe, gates were usually not announced until 20-30 minutes before boarding. Our flight over the
Atlantic was one of the longest flights we'd ever been on, and our flight from London to Amsterdam was the shortest, taking only a little
over an hour.
Arriving in
Amsterdam, we took a taxi to the Sunhead of 1617. We werent sure if we were at the right place
because the door was locked, but we knocked and eventually a guy came and let us in. There was some
confusion and it sounded like they double booked our apartment.
Fortunately, we had our email confirmation which cleared things up. Roelf walked us over to the apartment where we would be staying
for the next few nights. The stairs between the iron railings lead down to our apartment's front door.
After dropping our luggage off at the apartment, we walked around our neighborhood for a bit looking for a place for dinner.
Eventually, we grabbed some pizza from a restaurant on
Spui, went back to the apartment, had dinner, and went to bed.
