Faramir

Faramir is the only foster kitten that we ever adopted for ourselves. We fostered one puppy and probably 15-20 kittens for the Longmont Humane Society over the course of about three years. The last pair of kittens we fostered was Faramir and his sister Ladybug, although at the time we hadn't yet named him Faramir, so he is refered to as "Oranges" in the fosters section. You would never guess that LadyBug and Faramir were siblings, because they look nothing alike.

There was a quarantine at the humane society, so they conducted adoption clinics on the weekends at a satellite location. LadyBug was adopted at the first clinic. Faramir would whine incessantly when we left him alone in the "kitten bathroom", so we started letting him out to roam around the house. We had always wanted a lap cat (Nodi and Rubiks are not willing to sit for long in our laps), and Faramir was the friendliest lap kitten we had seen yet. We were trying to decide if we should keep him, and trying not to start picking out possible names, because we knew if we did that, we'd end up keeping him. In spite of that, we decided that we would call him Faramir if we decided to keep him. Then, the night before we had to make that decision, we were watching Lord of the Rings, and he came and sat on our lap for most of the movie. How could we resist...
