Mark Twain's House, New Haven, CT - June 2005

Before heading into NYC, we took a short detour from West Haven up to Hartford to visit Mark Twain's House. The 19-room Victorian-Gothic house was completed in 1874, and its design was considered eccentric at the time. Although we had not expected it, the Mark Twain House turned out to be one of our favorite parts of the whole trip. We grabbed a quick and suprisingly inexpensive lunch in the new museum wing next to the house before leaving.
